Welcome to smeSpire

A European Community of SMEs driven by SMEs

Dear Madam/Sir,

smeSpire (www.smespire.eu/) is an FP7 Support Action aiming to turn the challenges of the INSPIRE European Directive implementation into business opportunities for the “Geo-ICT” European Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

The purpose of smeSpire project is to encourage and enable the participation of private sector (focusing on SMEs) in the mechanisms of harmonising and making large scale environmental content available.

We want to know about your SME

SmeSpire is creating a Network of SMEs capable of transferring result-driven knowledge throughout Europe with research centres, environmental agencies, progressive technology providers and digital content providers.

For this, we are developing a database that will be the largest publicly available, searchable and structured repository of information on the characteristics, activities and competencies of Geo-ICT SMEs in Europe.

To join our Network, you are kindly invited to participate in a survey. The survey aims to collect information related to the knowledge and skills within SMEs, like your company, relating to Geo-ICT, INSPIRE Directive and the impacts in your organization.

This is a great opportunity to promote your business, advertise your skills and get in touch with other realities similar to yours, in order to enlarge your market throughout the European Union.

The importance of training

INSPIRE implementation needs training, and training is one of the main pillars of smeSpire, as it allow the SMEs Community to acquire knowledge and skill on INSPIRE and all the related implementation issues.

Join smeSpire to access training modules already developed and experienced in previous INSPIRE related initiative. Such training offer will be enriched and complemented with other training modules coming from specific needs that will be detected during the project.

Best Practices in INSPIRE

Best Practices are for smeSpire an effective tool to learn from past experience: methods, procedures, projects, reasons and objectives, implementations. They are lessons learnt available to all the members of the network, who can also promote and share their experience within the Community. Join smeSpire to share your INSPIRE experience within the Network.
